Design a High-Converting Instagram Carousel Post

June 05, 20252 min read

If you’re not using carousels to grow your business, you’re missing one of the easiest ways to get more eyes on your offers.

Instagram carousels don’t just look good—they build trust, boost engagement, and drive real action when they’re designed with strategy in mind. And the best part? Once you know the structure, it’s repeatable.

In this post, I’m giving you the exact 4-part formula I use to create carousels that convert—you can plug your content right in and post with confidence.

The 4-Part Formula to a High-Converting Carousel

1. The Cover: Make Them Stop Scrolling

Your first slide is the hook. Think bold text, clear visuals, and a promise of value.
Ask yourself:

  • What would make me stop and swipe through this post?

  • Does my headline speak to a result, struggle, or curiosity trigger?

Example hooks:

  • “3 Mistakes You’re Making in Your Marketing (And How to Fix Them)”

  • “Before You Post Again, Read This!”

  • “Feeling Invisible on Instagram? Do This.”

Your cover image sets the tone—so make it clean, bold, and intentional.

2. The Hook: Reinforce Why They Should Keep Swiping

Slide 2 should immediately expand on the first. You’re not building suspense—you’re confirming that they’re in the right place.

Use this slide to say:

  • “Here’s what you’ll learn”

  • “Why this matters”

  • “What’s at stake if you don’t know this”

Clarity wins. People scroll fast—get to the point fast, too.

3. The Story: Show Them the Transformation

This is where your content lives—think slides 3 through 6 or more.

Break your topic down into bite-sized steps. Use easy-to-read text, clean visuals, and consistent colors/fonts.
Each slide should offer one big idea.
Use this space to:

  • Educate

  • Share a framework

  • Walk through a process

  • Show before/after or problem/solution

The goal here is to build momentum and keep them swiping.

4. The CTA: Tell Them What to Do Next

This is the part most people skip—and it’s the one that makes the sale.

Your final slide should clearly guide them to take action:

  • “Want more help? DM me the word ‘READY.’”

  • “Save this post for later + share with a biz bestie.”

  • “Download the free guide in my bio!”

  • “Ready to scale? Explore Business in a Box today.”

Don’t assume they know what to do. Tell them.
